River Dog Shakedown is a band out of Leavenworth, WA. They specialize in folk, rock, bluegrass, and country styles. The band was formed by Emily Keenan (guitar, bass guitar) and Trevor Wire (banjo, electric guitar) on the banks of the Wenatchee River when a dog greeted them with a water show.
He's a little bit country, she's a little bit rock-n-roll. Trevor came all the way from the hills of Appalachia where he spent many years playing and teaching bluegrass banjo and guitar. Emily was a suburban girl who grew up with music as a refuge from the fast-paced hustle of the concrete jungle. They both ended up in the heart of Washington state for the mountain lifestyle, and when their paths crossed in Leavenworth in 2016 they began making music together.
It wasn't long before they met fiddle-player John Meriwether in a few different local bluegrass jams. John plays in many local River Dog Shakedown shows, and the band is hoping to do a traveling tour with all 3 (or maybe even 4? It's all in the works!) band members in summer 2019.
River Dog Shakedown performs mainly at venues in Leavenworth, Chelan, Wenatchee, and Skykomish, and they are doing a tour of Ski Resorts early 2019.
